We are looking for a Medical Assistant to work out of our Cherry Hill, NJ location as a Front Desk Receptionist/(Certified) Medical Assistant. Someone that is able to multitask as a Medical Assistant and Front Desk Receptionist. Travel to our Newtown Square, PA Location is required when needed. Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
Greets, instructs, directs patients and visitors as soon as they arrive at the office
Register/ Check-in/ Check-out patients
Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary and stationary material (e.g., pens, forms, and brochures)
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries
Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
Schedule appointments
Collect patient copays
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing
Physical Therapy Check-In and Out
Prior Authorizations and insurance verifications
Manage patient flow/ triage patients documenting medical history, vital statistics, test results
Support duties/set up for diagnostic and technical treatment procedures, special medical equipment, and apparatus such as Ultrasound, PRP, and Tenex/ Tenjet
Assisting providers with exams and surgical procedures
Meaningful Use
Assessing and responding to prescription refill requests
Managing a provider’s caseload including patient recall
Preparing exam rooms for office visits and office procedures
Scheduling appointments and addressing patient phone calls appropriately
Providing patient education and post-operative care instructions
Prior Authorizations for MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Visco Supplementation
Orthotic fitting
Administrative duties
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
Medical Office Experience: 2 years (preferred)
Knowledge of business office procedures & medical terminology preferred.
Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office.
Certified Medical Assistant is preferred but not required
CPR certification
Medical Office Experience/Orthopedic: 2 years (preferred but we are willing to train)
Preferred Skills
Strong communication skills-- you will be working within a team!
Working knowledge of common medical practices/policy/procedures (Orthopedic specific)
Maintaining a professional attitude and attire at all times
Ability to multitask
Phlebotomy
